Armed incident in Barrow

FOUR people have been arrested after armed police were called to an incident in Barrow.
Firearms and drugs were recovered after police were called to Barrow Island last night.
At 9pm police were told a man had a firearm in Island Road. Armed officers went to the area and at 9.40pm two people were arrested in Schooner Street.
At 10.15pm another two were arrested in Anchor Road.
Two firearms, a knife and an amount of controlled drugs were recovered.
Four people, all from Barrow, were in custody on suspicion of offences including possession of a loaded firearm in a public place
possession of a controlled drug, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm.
The people are three men aged 40, 45 and 54, and a 23-year-old woman.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen three males together in the area of the Co-op store in Island Road just after 9pm to come forward and contact DI Rob O’Connor on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
