Last updated at 15:08, Sunday, 02 March 2014
DRIVERS will face delays travelling between Millom and Barrow this weekend.
The A595, the main route between the two towns, will be closed for the second weekend in a row to allow for roadworks to be carried out.
The road will be closed today and tomorrow on a stretch either side of Soutergate to allow for further work on a £100,000 resurfacing project.
Work will take place in between Soutergate and the road leading to Sandside.
No buses are running along the route and diversions are in place via the A5092 to Greenood and the A590 for drivers heading from Millom to Barrow and the A590 to Greenodd and the A5092 for drivers heading in the opposite direction.
Traffic will face delays as a result with diversions in place today and tomorrow.

Have your say
The only people that complained are the same people that moan about the state of the road!
Just wondering if the council had thought to supply the residents of Soutergate with hi viz jackets as they dodge between the road maintenance vehicles to reach the village car park which is now closed off stranding cars? My fourteen year old and I were forced to walk between working vehicles this morning when crossing the road to the village. A health and safety issue which needs to be addressed and which with thought should never have arisen. The workers however have been polite and considerate in what must be a very difficult situation for them.
