If you feel like getting creative and making something romantic for your Valentine this year then there are so many options from red velvet gateau to melt in the middle tiramisu truffles.

But what if you are just useless at baking? Or cooking? Cakes can claim to be easy but there is just so much room for error. So here are a couple of classic romantic treats that are incredibly quick and about as straight forward as recipes come!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries - what better than a fruit naturally shaped like a red love heart and everything gets better dipped in chocolate so give it a try in three super simple steps.

1. Wash and dry your strawberries, the chocolate won't stick if they are wet.

2. Melt a couple of big bars of chocolate in a bain-marie (this is just a heat-proof bowl balanced on top of a sauce pan of boiling water). Bring the water to the boil and melt the chocolate. I used white chocolate but milk or dark is just as good.

3. Dip the strawberries in to the melted chocolate and coat them fully. Then lay them carefully on a tray lined with grease proof paper and let them cool in the fridge.

Once the chocolate has solidified they are the yummiest treats ever!

Raspberry Prosecco Jelly

This idea looks so special but is the quickest dessert ever to make.

1. I just used Hartley's raspberry jelly cubes and mixed them with the usual amount of boiling water in a plastic jug.

2. Next instead of adding the usual amount of cold water I added half a bottle of prosecco.

3. Take a small handful of raspberries or chopped strawberries and drop them in to a champagne glass. Add the mixture of dissolved jelly and prosecco to the glass and then refrigerate overnight!

Enjoy!
