I study at Furness College five days a week, Childcare and Early Years. Why are you entering the modelling competition?
I was in the competition last year and really enjoyed it. I gained confidence and love meeting new people.
Tell us about yourself: I like to have a laugh and mix well with other people, but I can be quite quiet. Of her make over she said: “What a confidence boost the stylists gave me, it was great fun”. The makeover: “Katie looked very young for her age and so we gave her a really over the top, glamorous look that is much more mature,” says Dawn.

I studied at Rathbone Training as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Childcare. I am currently working at B & Q as a checkout assistant with Racheal Thompson for Under 18s Round Two. We have started our voting campaigns. Why are you entering the modelling competition?
I have done modelling before in Manchester at Star Style Studios. I did a variety of shoots for their website, have been wanting to begin modelling again on a more frequent basis and this competition will hopefully be the perfect opportunity to showcase myself and be noticed. Tell us about yourself: I am a loud, confident person. I have never had the opportunity to do anything like this and feel I will bring spice and excitement to the competition. My make over was brilliant, I couldn’t believe how different I look, I am speechless. The makeover: “We wanted to give her a glamorous look. She has lively hazel eyes so we used dark brown eye makeup to bring them out and put her hair back away from her face, which looks really sophisticated and means you can see her eyes,” says Dawn.

I am currently studying at Barrow Sixth Form College, but I have a part-time job at the Swan at Newby Bridge doing waitress work and bar work. Why are you entering the modelling competition?
I am entering the competition because I’m not one of those girls that stands out from other people. I’m not loud, or feel I’m the pretty one, so I would like to stand out more.
Tell us about yourself: I have had a hard time the past two years because my parents split up but it has made me strong. And now I am ready to try and put 100 per cent effort into this competition. The makeover: “Jemma normally has a fringe but we have put her hair back off her face, because her look is all about her bright blue eyes,” says Dawn. Jemma, said: “I can’t wait to see the final image. I feel so pretty my hair and make up is such a transformation”.

I study hairdressing at college, am studying Level 2. I love experimenting with hair so am excited about what my hair is going to look like. I also work at B & Q as a checkout assistant (part-time). We have already started our voting campaign. Why are you entering the modelling competition?
I had a free photo shoot with my dress. I really enjoyed being glammed up to do the shoot and I heard from people the modelling comp was good, so I thought I would try. Tell us about yourself: I have leopard print hair so am excited to find out what my hair is going to be like. I loved my photo shoot, it’s the best experience ever. The makeover: “We have gone for an edgy ‘mohawk’ look and some vibrant makeup because Racheal can really carry off a funky look like this,” says Dawn.
Name: Danielle Milling Age: 17 Category: Under 18s What do you do?
I work at the Canteen on a Thursday and a weekend. Why are you entering the modelling competition?
Because it’s something I’d like to do in the future and it looks really good fun. Tell us about yourself: I’ve always been the one who stands out, whether it’s hair, make-up or style. I like to have my own trend and I’m creative. Being in the studio was fun rather than nerve racking. I am so thrilled about my transformation, I love the 1950s pinup girl look! Haha. The makeover: “Danielle normally has quite an alternative style but we have gone for a pin-up girl, Marilyn Monroe look in our shoot,” says Dawn.
