Telecoms giant BT ditched plans to build a 40m wind monitoring mast in countryside at High Haume Farm, near Dalton.
The former Furness Railway steam locomotive No. 25 was bought by Yorkshire steam fan Bert Hitchen with the intention of restoring it to running order.
