A MODEL of a steam locomotive celebrating the traditions of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment featured in a display of model engineering as part of last weekend's Furness Model Railway Club Exhibition.

King's Own was built and displayed by Dave Fuller at Barrow Sixth Form College and is based on the LMS locomotive 6161 King's Own.

The full-size version was built at Derby in 1930 in the Royal Scott class and was withdrawn from service in 1963.

The club's model engineering section has a track in Barrow park and you can find out more on the website at https://furnessmrc.webs.com/modelengineering.htm
