BALLOONS, painted faces and a bouncy castle featured strongly as a Barrow pub staged a fun day in 1994.
The Mail, on Monday, August 15, noted: "Barrow families enjoyed a day out at the fun day held at the Tally Ho, in Schneider Road, Barrow, on Saturday.
"A barbecue made sure no-one had a rumbling stomach.
"In the evening, a laser disco with karaoke run by DJ Experience, went down a storm, with mums, dads and youngsters taking their turn at the microphone.
"There was also a stand-up comedian to keep everyone entertained."
Landlord Graham Murray said: "It was absolutely marvellous and a really good day."
The pub shares its name with a Barrow-built T-class submarine which was commissioned in April 1943 and scrapped in 1967.
The boat served in the Far East during the Second World War against Japanese shipping.
