YOU can find out how much Barrow owes to the work of its civil engineers in a talk at Barrow archives on Wednesday.
The 7pm talk on civil engineers and their works in Barrow and Furness is being given by Derek Fryer in the archive, within the library building at Ramsden Square, Barrow.
It is part of a series of events designed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Institute of Civil Engineers.
Places at the talk are free but you need to book by calling 01229 407377, or by sending an email to barrow.archives@cumbria.gov.uk
Civil engineers have played a leading role in everything from the creation of Barrow's docks to Furness reservoirs and bridges.
