An embroidery firm has won a national printing award for creating a unique design.
Stitch and Print, based at Miller Business Centre on Station Road, Wigton, has been awarded Best Transfer Print’ by the Printwear & Promotion magazine awards.
The winning design featured an image of deceased rock star Kurt Cobain using an art style known as digital circlism. The prize was presented to owner Richard Mattinson at the industry’s biggest trade show at the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday.
He said: “It's fantastic to receive this award; we keep investing in training and technology and that helps us to offer something that's a little bit more than everyone else does.
“The format of the design is perfect for the production of transfer prints, and it’s worked well using our recently purchased upgraded transfer system.”
The award was based on both the design and its production onto T-shirts. The judges were impressed, and added: “The clarity and style of the design integrates perfectly with the technology in the print production process.”
