It's starting to look a lot like Christmas, and from this week onwards towns across Cumbria will have the decorations and lights to match. Here's our guide to the county's big switch-ons taking place over the next few weeks.

With Father Christmas Cruises, family fun zone, stalls, entertainers, lantern parade & firework display

An afternoon of music with The Bay Roadshow, headlined by girl group Stooshe

<u>Brampton</u>
Santa, his reindeer and some camels will lead a procession through the town, followed by the Christmas light switch-on

<u>Carlisle</u>
An afternoon of exciting live entertainment on stage outside the old town hall. Featuring Collabro and Lucy Spraggan.

<u>Cockermouth</u>
Fun fair, Santa’s grotto, live music, dancers and street entertainment from 2pm.

Ceremonial lights switch-on

<u>Grange</u>
Father Christmas will arrive to meet the children then the Mayor of Grange will switch on the lights

<u>Kendal</u>
With Father Christmas riding in his sleigh pulled by reindeers, Christmas markets and Festive food

Penrith will be illuminated during the Winter Festival, with even more festive sparkle

Fairground, stalls and music plus lights.

<u>Ulverston</u>
The lights will be switched on to coincide with the Dickensian Festival weekend.

<u>Whitehaven</u>
Entertainment from 1pm with lights switch on about 5pm.

<u>Wigton</u>
Santa will be setting up his grotto, X Factor 2013 finalist Luke Friend will be performing

When: Sunday November 29, early evening
<u>Workington</u>
Lanterns will be used for a special evening parade that takes place during the Workington Winter Wonderland Festival

When: Saturday November 28, procession begins at 5.15pm
Askam
Switch on of Christmas lights with light parade at 5.15pm, followed by a firework display. There will also be a Christmas Fair in the community centre from 3pm and a Santa/fancy dress fun run starting at 3.30pm.

Lindal
Switch on of village Christmas tree on The Green at 6pm, with a Christmas Fair in Buccleuch Hall.
