New striker does the business

BARROW AFC joint manager Dave Bayliss has praised chairman Brian Keen for letting them bring in another forward – on a non-contract basis.
He began his career as a trainee at Old Trafford before moving to Hull City, where he made over 100 first team appearances.
After spells at Torquay, Chester, Telford and Hereford, Brown settled at Accrington in 2005.
He spent three seasons at Stanley scoring 27 goals in 60-odd games, but was loaned out to Conference outfits, Burton, Rushden and Northwich last season.
Said Bayliss: “David Brown has done brilliant for us, we needed something different.
“We’ve tried various formations up front and, to be honest, it is disappointing that no-one has nailed down the place.
“We’ve had four strikers for two positions and no-one has done themselves any favours by saying this is my shirt, I want to stay in the team.
“We thought we’d try something different today. The chairman has been brilliant and let us let us bring another lad in.
“I know alot of clubs are after signing him. He just drops off where defenders don’t like to go and could easily have got a goal himself.
“We’ll have to see about him, he wants to stay full-time and we’re not a full-time team. The ball’s in Brownie’s court.
“I just hope he enjoyed today’s performace, the way we want to play the game, we’re not just a kick and rush team.”
