Barrow AFC striker collapses on team coach - but makes journey home

DRAMATIC scenes were sparked on Barrow AFC's team coach this afternoon when striker Lee McEvilly collapsed with chest pains at Mansfield Town.

However, the 30-year-old felt fit enough to travel back with the rest of Dave Bayliss's squad, and is due to be assessed in hospital this evening.
McEvilly, who arrived at Holker Street to begin his third spell with the club only last week, came on as a second-half substitute in today's thumping 8-1 defeat at the home of the Stags.
After boarding the team coach he collapsed at around 5.30pm, while it is understood he complained of pain on the right side of his chest.
Initially, McEvilly was treated by paramedics who arrived at field Mill in a First Responder vehicle, before more paramedics arrived in an ambulance at around 6pm.
But, soon after, the former Northern Ireland international was able to walk out of the stadium and join his team-mates unaided, and appeared not to be in any danger.
As a precautionary measure, it is believed McEvilly will visit a walk-in hospital facility in the Liverpool area tonight to be assessed further.
