BARROW AFC have signed ex-Derby County winger Aaron Cole, former Macclesfield Town striker Vinny Mukendi and the versatile Ben Hoskin ahead of the start of the new season.
Cole - a 19-year-old who spent most of last season on loan at Stockport County before leaving then-parent club Derby at the end of the campaign - signed non-contract terms with the Bluebirds this evening (Friday).
He played a striker's role for Barrow in their final pre-season game - a 1-1 home draw against a Bolton Wanderers XI.
Mukendi, aged 20, stands 6ft 4 ins tall and has signed an initial five-month contract with the Bluebirds, who kick-off their 2012/13 season at home against AFC Telford United tomorrow (Saturday) (kick-off 3pm).
Hoskin, who can play right-back, centre-half and in midfield has joined on non-contract terms.
The 21-year-old, formerly of Burnley, is the nephew of Bluebirds coach Ashley Hoskin and has been on trial with the club for most of the summer.
Manager Dave Bayliss has now assembled a squad of 19 players, though two - defender Matt Flynn and Alex-Ray Harvey - are injured and will definitely miss the start of the season.
Striker Adam Boyes, who has been troubled by an ankle problem, is expected to be fit for the game, giving Bayliss an available squad of 17 to pick from.
* Barrow's new kit has not arrived in time and they will play the first two games of the season in the black and white pre-season strip.

Talk sense man, we've had the nuclus of our team for most of the friendlies just needed to finish off the squad. Lots of players aren't even available until 1 August when their contracts expire. I suppose you also feel its Bayliss's fault we have had 3 players suffering last minute injuries (2 serious). We can't afford a bigger squad unless the gates improve so come on the missing fans lets get behind the Bluebirds get to the game tomorrow and catch up with some mates you've maybe not seen for a while.
