The 20-year-old has penned a one-year contract with the club.

Anoruo was released by Wrexham in May having featured just three times for the Welsh outfit last season. He spent the latter part of the 2011/12 campaign on loan at Blue Square Bet North outfit Vauxhall Motors.

The striker played the second half when the Bluebirds beat Workington 3-0 in a pre-season friendly at Holker Street on Tuesday night.

Barrow's official club website says: "Nigerian-born but a British Citizen, Anoruo has scored goals prolifically at a lower level and now aims to show Barrow fans that he can repeat those feats in the Conference.

"He has now recovered from a knee operation carried out in May, passing a medical by Barrow physio, Sean Riley, and made his Barrow debut in the Workington Chas Kendall (Coral) Trophy first leg game."
