Barrow AFC sign ex-Stockport winger Rowe

BARROW AFC have signed former Stockport County left winger Danny Rowe on an initial five-month deal.

The 20-year-old, who left Stockport at the end of last season, donned Barrow colours for the first time last week when he scored the equaliser in a 1-1 pre-season home draw against a Bolton Wanderers XI.

The capture of Rowe, who spent four seasons with the Hatters and made over 50 appearances, boosts Barrow's squad to 16 players ahead of Saturday's Blue Square Bet Premier season-opener at home against AFC Telford United.

However, two players, defender Matt Flynn and midfielder Alex-Ray Harvey, have already been ruled out through injury.

Rowe will wear the number 11 shirt.

See tomorrow's Evening Mail for full story, plus an eight-page preview to the new season.
