WEMBLEY hero Lee McEvilly is back at Barrow AFC.

GOAL-DEN MOMENT Lee McEvilly celebrates his Wembley equaliser against Stevenage Martin Moser

The 30-year-old striker is remembered for heading a late equaliser in the 2010 FA Trophy final against Stevenage which took the game into extra time, with a Jason Walker special then earning the Bluebirds a dramatic 2-1 victory.

That proved to be McEvilly’s last game of his second spell at Holker Street, with the former Cambridge and Wrexham forward joining Irish side Sligo Rovers, and his career has stalled since, not helped by injury problems.

He joins Barrow having left Warrington Town before Christmas and has been training with Dave Bayliss’s squad for a short while.

The Bluebirds are also looking to add a young free-agent defender next week, who can operate at right back or centre-half.

Have your say

McEvil looked slim at the Luton game so may be a good pay as you play signing, good luck Macca.
