Barrow AFC miss out on O'Donnell
Last updated at 17:17, Wednesday, 16 January 2013
BARROW AFC have seen transfer target Danny O'Donnell slip from their grasp.
The 26-year-old centre-half was prematurely announced as signed for the Bluebirds two weeks ago, but the club's now-lifted transfer embargo prevent the deal going ahead.
Time has worked against Barrow, as O'Donnell has decided to fight for his place at Edgeley Park following the dismissal of boss Jim Gannon this week.
A statement on the Barrow AFC website said: "Barrow have lost out on the capture of 26-year-old Stockport defender Danny O'Donnell, who has decided to remain at Stockport to fight for his place.
"This follows the sacking of Jim Gannon as County Manager last night.
"The deal was initially due to go ahead the week before last, but was originally stalled by Barrow's temporary registration embargo. O'Donnell was however FA Trophy-tied to Stockport. "
