Rogan strike icing on cake

BLUEBIRDS joint-manager Darren Sheridan will continue to push for more from his players, writes GRAHAM DIXON.
And he welcomes the chance of a couple of training sessions this week before Saturday’s game away to Salisbury.
Sheridan was pleased with the 3-0 win at Lewes, the management eventually deciding on the same starting 11 that gained a 1-1 draw with Rushden & Diamonds.
He says: “We were looking to bring the new lad (Craig James) in but thought the lads had just done enough midweek.
“Nick Rogan came on for Lee Hunt second half and has done really well for us, a great goal and a good problem for me and Bayles to have.
“Lee was a bit down after the game because he’s been used to banging the goals in at Rhyl.
“This is a big step up for the lad, maybe he’s working too hard at times but he’ll be alright.
“I keep having a go at Tim (Deasy) to keep clean sheets as this breeds confidence, so this was a big plus from the game.
“Lewes weren’t the strongest but you can only beat what’s in front of you.
“The lads think I’m a bit of a moaner, going on at them, but it’s only because I want to win every game.”
Sheridan said that Chris Thompson, who played on loan for Fleetwood at the weekend, needed the game time.
He added: “Tommo has been sat in the stands and I felt for the lad. It is better he gets match fitness than just travel down to Lewes but he is very much part of the squad.”
l Mark Boyd’s free-kick against Oxford has been shortlisted by Setanta for goal of the month.
