ECLECTIC woodland gathering We Are All Trees returns to the Lake District this summer, with the full line-up now announced.

Back after a year’s break, the three-day festival is a celebration of experimental art and music, set amongst a surreal woodland canopy in Fell Foot Woods, near Newby Bridge.

This year's line-up features a an incredible array of established live acts and highly-rated new artists - some local, and many from Manchester's underground music scene - and new for 2016 will also be an afternoon mini flea market, a gong bath healing area, and mass Tai Chi, with the usual vintage, art and craft stalls, kid's play area, real ales and home cooked food also on offer to make it a packed weekend.

Kicking off on Friday July 1, the opening evening's headline act will be From The Kites of San Quentin, bringing their trip hop soundscapes to the Fell Foot stage, taking the We Are All Trees audience on a sonic adventure.

Post punk-influenced riot girl band ILL will be one of the names to look out for, and returning favourites Three Dimensional Tanx always are guaranteed to impress with their acid-infused psychedelic freak-outs. Manchester's Ten Mouth Electron - falling somewhere between Krautrock and rockabilly - Furness math rock duo Cassie, Ulverston's grunge noise outfit Strangers To Ourselves, dream pop quartet Dear Leaders, and solo folk singer-songwriters The Bear Around Your Neck and Sultan A complete the Friday bill.

Bernard + Edith Saturday is an equally varied line-up, with electronic boy/girl pair Bernard + Edith showcasing material from last year's debut album, Jem, in the headline slot.

Off-the-wall 60s psych-pop purveyor Herb Diamante returns, having appeared previously at We Are All Trees, and festival organisers Hannah and her partner Benny play a rare local date with their band Bingo Harry.

Also featuring on Saturday's lengthy bill are soulful seven-piece Johnny Sly, female electro performer Sweet Milk, Poppycock - led by an ex-member of The Fall, Una Baines - progressive punk act 7 Shades, surrealist songwriter Human Shaped Balloons, and softly-spoken vocalist Tekla.

The live music on Sunday July 3 comes from Manchester-based DIY alt folk collective Oh Man The Mountain, and highly-rated pop four-piece The Happy Soul - both part of a grand Goodbye Matinee, featuring the ever-popular psychedelic poetry from Barry of the Black Wood.

The whole event is hosted by the dark-humoured comedian Trish Dee.

Saturday's brand-new flea market should also prove to be one of the highlights of the weekend, with artists selling their own pieces, and Analogue Archives Records bringing some of the best and rarest vinyl in existence.

We Are All Trees returns to Fell Foot Wood from July 1 to 3. Individual tickets and weekend passes - which also include camping - are available now from  www.skiddle.com
