THIS Broughton Road shop at the end of the Tudor Square car park in Dalton has had several different names and owners through the past 20 years.
This pair of Evening Mail pictures is from April 1994 when it was the Langhorns fish and chip takeaway.
It was open until 11pm Monday to Thursday and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Back in March 1998 the owners of the chippie - Peter and Helen Longhorn - were celebrating 10 years in business and turned the clock back to 1988 prices for one week.
That meant a good helping of fish and chips was just £1.50.
An article in the Evening Mail to mark the anniversary said the couple had been at the purpose-built base at 6 Broughton Road for four years, having been in a smaller shop nearby for the first six years.
Children's meals had been introduced and there were plans for kebabs.
The firm had recently been given the Frier's Quality Award from the Sea Fish Industry Authority.
