A SOUTH Cumbria pub hosts its first-ever beer and music festival this bank holiday weekend, having changed hands last year.
The General Burgoyne, in Urswick, launches its first three-day event on Saturday - possibly the only event of its type ever held in the village.
Running from noon tomorrow until Monday, there will be a marquee erected in the pub's car park, with dozens of beers available - including a world-first serving of Robinsons' new Bonjeuros ale.
As well as a barbecue and other food, the live music offering runs across the three days.
Acoustic acts make up the line-up, with blues outfit Stainless performing their unplugged set, featuring stripped-back versions of Crowded House, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and Tom Petty, and The Joe Fleming Band - featuring the well-regarded Ulverstonian leading his live outfit through an energetic, funky set.
Serene will be ones to watch on the bill, with the young trio showcasing their self-penned experimental rock numbers, and accomplished guitarist Marc Atkinson plays a set of indie classics and invites the audience to pick from an extensive catalogue of tracks.
Mike Larkin, of Shallow Waters, and Jon Dawes, of Paper Cranes, team up for a joint acoustic set, and Bethany Higginson will be performing solo. More acts are also set to be announced.
Entrance is free each day.
