AN update on a community archaeology project will start the 2017 season of talks for the Duddon Valley Local History Group.
Stephe Cove is give an update on the Longhouse Project from 7.30pm on Wednesday January 25 in the Rankin Room of the Victory Hall in Broughton.
The project is piecing together the story of people who called the Duddon Valley their home many centuries ago.
The Longhouse project involves a programme of survey and excavation on the sites of three medieval long houses in the Duddon Valley, near Seathwaite Tarn.
The aim of the programme is to discover the history of these fascinating monuments and their associated upland landscape.
It has involved the training of project volunteers in different archaeological survey techniques.
