WE are surrounded by interesting buildings in the towns and village of Furness but often take them for granted until they have been demolished or are under threat.

On Wednesday, April 26, the Duddon Valley History Group will hear about a few of the area's more interesting structures from Dan Elsworth, of Ulverston-based Greenlane Archaeology.

His talk is called "Recording Historic Buildings in the Furness Area".

It starts at 7.30pm in the Rankin Room of the Victory Hall in Broughton.

All are welcome and refreshments are available.

Ken Day, chairman of the Duddon Valley Local History Group said: " Members of the group have been working with the Wordsworth Trust to identify places in the Duddon Valley narrated by Wordsworth in his sonnets.

"This has resulted in the installation of an interactive display board at Dove Cottage, Grasmere."
