POWERFUL prop Brad Singleton has been promoted up the pecking order at Super League Leeds Rhinos.

The 23-year-old, who was part of last season’s Challenge Cup, Super League Leaders Shield and Grand Final winning side, has been handed the number 16 jersey for the 2016 campaign.

The promotion from number 19 into the top 17 follows the Barrow Island product’s best season with the Headingley club, for whom he made his debut in 2011.

He scored in the Rhinos’ 50-0 win over Hull KR at Wembley in the Challenge Cup final and missed just four games all season.

Head coach Brian McDermott praised his efforts, and said: “Brad showed outstanding potential last season.

“He has been around the first team squad throughout my time here. However, last season he really grasped his opportunity and this is a reward for those efforts.”
