Both sides created chances, but it was Garstang keeper Curwen who produced a man-of-the-match performance when he saved time after time from dangerous striker Dave Mansergh.

When Garstang took the lead in the 80th minute it looked like Cassies were going to get no reward for all their efforts, however, Crooklands equalised within a minute when Mansergh produced a defence splitting pass to put Tony Butler in the clear and he rifled the ball into the roof of the net with a tremendous strike.
