DEPUTY mayor of Barrow, Councillor Bill McEwan, joined hundreds of Rotarians from across Cumbria and Lancashire as part of the Centenary Celebrations of the Rotary Foundation.
They attended an exhibition and interdenominational celebration service at Blackburn Cathedral on Saturday to celebrate the rotary's own and only charity.
David Simpson, chairman of the Foundation Committee of Lancashire and Cumbria, said: “Rotary is a worldwide movement of volunteers working to benefit local and international communities. There are 68 Rotary clubs in Lancashire and Cumbria with more than 1,850 members of all ages."
