A REUNION is being arrange for the Class of 1956 at South Walney Junior School on Ocean Road.

It has been organised by Carole Collins to get together some of the school pals she knew 60 years ago.

She came across this picture, from around 1956, when Miss Brown was head of the school and Miss England was the class teacher.

The names she recalls from the picture, not in order, include Peter Latimer, Pat Richards, Lillian Sutherland, Brenda Dixon, June Beckman, Judith Parker, Carol Hornby, Janey Hoye, Katherine Wishart and Jeana Bartlett.

There is also Thelma Thompson, Jacqueline Fulton, Nina Nicholson, John Slater, Christine McFarlane, Violet Knowles, Cynthia Gregg, Tonia Ross, Carole Nixon, Miss Brown, Miss England and Margaret Collins.

She also remembers Julie Hartley, Susan Robinson, Dorothy Dyer, Christine Mason, Jacqueline Charnley, Keith Littlewood, Ian Hodgson, John Halliday, Peter Athey, Ian Kerr, Alan Preston, Dougie Wilson, Michael Cannell, Billy Shannon, Brian Charnley, Ian McDonald, Barry Ward, George Dyer and Leslie Holgate.

Carole said: "We probably live in different parts of the country now, but if you manage to see this notice, would you like to meet up for morning coffee at the Lisdoonie on Friday, March 17, for a 60 year catch up?"
