A rare survivor from Millom railway station has turned up in an auction room in Wiltshire.
The well-travelled station sign is made from cast aluminium and is probably from the 1950s.
It would most likely have been painted maroon originally - rather than yellow.
The sign is five feet across and fixed in a heavy wooden frame.
It is being sold on Friday, November 10 by Chippenham Auction Rooms, Wiltshire, and is expected to make £100 to £150.
A similar "bullseye" platform sign is in the Millom station ticket office and there is another example in the West Cumberland Railway Museum in St Bees.
