BARROW AFC have completed the loan signings of strike duo Liam Hearn and Steven Rigg.

Hearn arrives from Lincoln City having bagged eight National League goals for the Imps this season, while he briefly played under new Barrow boss Paul Cox at Mansfield in the early part of last season.

Carlisle forward Rigg – who has made 33 League Two appearances for the Cumbrians, including 20 starts – has also joined on an emergency loan deal with the 23-year-old's tie-up ending on January 2. Hearn's temporary stay will last two days longer.

Hearn will not be permitted to play for Barrow in the FA Trophy and has also not been given permission to play for the Bluebirds in their league game at Lincoln on Saturday, December 19.

Barrow also tried to push through a youth loan deal for Stoke City’s 19-year-old French midfielder Eddy Lecygne.

But the Premier League Potters were unable to lodge the relevant paperwork before today's 5pm deadline for loans, and the move fell through.
