THE biggest Model Railway Exhibition in Cumbria returns is being held on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19.

Workington Model Railway Exhibition, is to be held at the Energus building, Blackwood Road, Lillyhall, Workington.

There is free car parking and regular bus services from Workington and Whitehaven railway stations.

The exhibition expects at least 12 layouts and brings together groups, organisations and individuals from all over Cumbria and Northern England who share a passion and enthusiasm for all things model railway.

The layouts range from those to have featured in the model railway magazines to a Thomas the Tank Engine layout for youngsters to control themselves.

Weather permitting, there will be live steam train rides.

The layouts and exhibits incorporate a whole range of technologies from clockwork to the very latest digital command control systems. with some layouts incorporating authentic sounds.

There will also be trade stands and demonstrators of modelling techniques. This is the sixth year that the exhibition is being presented by Solrail, a 'not for profit' team of enthusiasts and volunteers.

The exhibition will be open from 10am until 5pm on the Saturday and 10am until 4pm on the Sunday.

Admission is £5 with accompanied children free. Also included is a free programme listing everything on display.
