A handbag and its contents were stolen from a house in Hastings Street, Walney.
The thief entered through an insecure front door between 9.30pm on August 17 and 1.50am on August 18.
A male was seen in the rear garden of a nearby Cardiff Street property at around 1.50pm on August 18 and a handbag was recovered.
An attempted burglary happened on Hastings Street between July 28 and August 11.
A flat-bladed instrument was used to try to gain entry to a window at the rear of the property.
Anyone with information is asked to call Barrow CID on 101.
