A FORMER pub landlady who lost her job after being caught in possession of drugs two years ago has been before the courts again.

Clare Potts, 52, ran the Grapes in Market Street, Ulverston.

She was jointly charged with her partner, 48-year-old Gary Blowers, of Underwood Road, Ulverston, with possession with intent to supply amphetamine, cannabis and phenazepam on November 5 last year.

Both have admitted the charges but Potts, of Cartmel Drive, disputes her basis of plea and there was to be a Newton hearing on Friday but it was adjourned.

It will be re-listed at a later date.

Detective Constable Cheryl Smith said: “They were both travelling from Blackpool to Ulverston with the drugs when they were stopped by uniformed officers.

“They found 1,383 of phenazepam, 245 grammes of amphetamine and 53 grammes of cannabis.”
