A FLOOD alert for the south Cumbria coast is in force for the high tide tonight.
The Environment Agency is issuing the alert, warning that tidal spray and onshore flooding may affect some roads and properties. People are warned to stay away from the coast.
The alert is for the North Morecambe Bay, covering Roa Island, Roosebeck, South Ulverston, Canal Foot, East Plain Farm, Arnside and Sandside.
The tide is forecast to peak at around 11.30pm. An astronomical tide of 5.05m AoD is forecast at Barrow.
High water can be expected for two hours before and after the peak.
