A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital in Barrow after coming off his bike in the Lake District and landing in a verge.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called out to assist the 41-year-old man following the road traffic collison which occured at 1.25 on Monday at Troutbeck Bridge near Windermere.
The charity's Pride of Cumbria helicopter was sent to assist the North West Ambulance Service road paramedics at the scene.
Following an examination and assessment at the scene the man was flown to Furness General Hospital for treatment to his back.
On arrival at the hospital the man was said to be in a stable condition.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
