MILLOM School has confirmed that more students have gained the highest GCSE grades of A* and A this year.
An increase in attaining the top two grades was a key priority for the school.
The average grade per pupil increased from a low C last year to a high C this year - and the overall pass rate was 73 per cent.
A total of 67.3 per cent of students gained five A* to C grades.
Steve Olliver, director of learning for Key Stage Four, said: "Once again, the students have been rewarded for their commitment and effort over the past two years.
"It is fantastic to see so many students achieving the top grades this year.
"I would like to congratulate these and all students on their individual performances.
"We look forward to seeing many of our students returning to continue their studies at Millom sixth form in September."
