POLICE are examining CCTV footage after a firework appeared to be thrown from the Barrow AFC away section during the Bluebirds' bank holiday Monday match at Halifax Town.

A strong following of 256 Barrow fans made the trip to West Yorkshire for the Vanarama National League match, which the hosts won 3-1.

Officers from Cumbria Police were present at the ground.

Following the game, Barrow Police tweeted: "Good following of 265 @BarrowAFC fans at @FCHTOnline today, one idiot spoilt it by throwing a firework, good quality CCTV being checked."

Police later confirmed "a male juvenile from Barrow" had been arrested for a public order offence, but this was not in relation to the throwing of the firework.

Police confirmed that it had appeared the firework had been thrown from the Barrow supporters' section.
