Bobby Ball appeared at Millom Palladium on Tuesday evening, performing his show, An Audience With Bobby Ball.
Offering the crowd an insight into his life and Christian faith, Mr Ball told the audience stories which focused on his comic career and how he eventually chose a different route.
After a long career performing, Mr Ball decided to take a much more spiritual path and now takes four months out of his schedule every year to tour with a gospel show and to speak at various venues to spread the word.
The comedian said his decision to become a born-again Christian came following years of performing and “seeing parts of himself that he didn’t like very much”.
Pastor Fred McKeown, said: “It was an absolutely fantastic night, really good. There were around 300 people there and the palladium was filled to capacity.
“He talked a lot about his life, his Christian faith, and his experiences with God as well as sharing a lot of funny stories. It was very interesting and quite touching at the same time.
“Bobby spent quite a bit of time interacting with the crowd. It was a good night and I really enjoyed it, along with everyone else.
“I would just like to thank everyone at the Millom Palladium for looking after us.”
Mr Ball hosted The Cannon and Ball Show with comedy partner Tommy Cannon for nine years between 1979 and 1988.
Since then, Mr Ball has starred in various sitcoms and dramas including Last of the Summer Wine and Heartbeat, as well as appearing on popular reality show, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2005.
