A MAN from the Millom area has died after an apparent paragliding crash on a mountain in the Lake District.
The body of a 38-year-old man was found on Fleetwith Pike shortly after 5am this morning following a search by police officers, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, the National Police Air Service and an RAF helicopter.
The deceased man was wearing paragliding equipment and he had been reported missing to the police in the early hours.
The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
The coroner's office and the Air Accident Investigation Branch have been informed.
