POLICE are investigating a burglary that took place in Ambleside in the early hours of yesterday morning.
More than £20,000 worth of goods have been stolen from Horsman's jewellers shop in Lake Road, Ambleside, at around 3.40am this morning.
An alarm was activated and when police arrived on the scene it was evident that there had been a forced entry at the front of the premises and that a large quantity of watches had been stolen from the window display.
It is believed that the watches amount to more than £20,000.
The perpetrators used a metal traffic bollard to smash the glass and gain access to the window display.
Police are in the very early stages of the investigation but are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
If you have information call Cumbria Police on 101.
