A MOUNTAIN rescue team were called to the aid of a woman who had injured her knee on Nab Scar.
Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue went to help a 55 year old woman who was suffering from a leg injury while walking in the Lake District last night.
Team members were called out around 6.30pm last night to help the woman who was unable to continue walking.
Nick Owen, Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue team leader, said: "It was an injury that got progressively worse over a long time.
"She got slower and slower until she just stopped and couldn't walk any further."
The team of 15 volunteers put a splint on her knee and carried her down the mountain.
It took approximately three hours to complete the operation.
Mr Owen added: "The lady came back in today with a box of biscuits and a brace on her knee.
"It's always nice when people come back in and tell us how they're doing."
