A PICTURESQUE guest house in Grange has been sold for almost half a million pounds.

Elton Guest House, in Windermere Road in Grange, has been sold for an asking price of £460,000.

The Victorian guest house was sold by real estate advisors, Colliers International, to Liam and Lyn Fee who are relocating from the Midlands.

Elton Guest House is a traditional limestone building which dates back to the 1840s and includes seven letting bedrooms and a three-bedroom owners' apartment.

Located in the heart of Grange, the hotel is a short walk from the shops, ornamental gardens and promenade.

Neil Thomson, associate director at Colliers International's Manchester office, said: “Colliers has seen a steady increase of buyers such as Liam and Lyn who are relocating from around the UK to realise their dream of running their own business.

"Small hotel and guest houses offer a great opportunity for those wishing to work and live together, often situated in beautiful locations such as Cumbria and the Lake District National Park.

“Since the end of the recession there has been a marked recovery in the economy as well as in lenders’ appetite for “new to trade” operators such as Liam and Lyn – which is good news to those looking to buy a B&B, guest house or small hotel.”
