Originally known as the Muncaster Country Fair and Sheep Dog Trials, the show offered plenty to enjoy for fans of a traditional day out in the countryside.

The show has grown into a well-established event which combines country fair events with other attractions and entertainment, the show offered competitions, trade stands, pony displays and lots more.

Show secretary Sandra Cummings said: “It has been a fantastic day. We have had an absolutely fantastic time.

“Support from local groups and people have really helped us out on the day and everyone has been saying what a great day they have had.

“There has been a brilliant turnout of trade stands. We’ve had 45 which is the most we have ever had.

“The Fell Ponies Society has been here who have put on some amazing demonstrations about the local breeds and they also did pony rides.

We’ve had wrestling and obviously the dog show. You couldn’t move for the amount of dogs we’ve had and the weather has been brilliant.”

Black Combe Country Fair was staged yesterday in Bootle. The event has now reached its eighth year in its new location.
