A POSSIBLE telephone scam could be tricking people into handing over hundreds of pounds.
Cumbria Police are warning members of the public about the possible scam which informs people that as a British citizen they have been awarded cash from the British government.
They are then asked to go to a post office where these funds will be released once a fee of £210 is paid.
Members of the public are asked to report any incidents to the police by calling 101.
