BANK holiday motorists experienced delays on the M6 northbound due to a police incident - which was believed to involve a man who has climbed onto a bridge.
Cumbrian motorists travelling north were being affected by "severe delays" on the motorway between Junction 31, for A59 Preston New Road, and Junction 31A for B6242 Haighton Green.
Lancashire police has yet to make an official statement, but the incident reportedly related to a man on a bridge over the motorway at Longridge Road.
The road was closed and considerable traffic tailed back on both sides of the motorway.
