FOUR police vans were called to a report of a disturbance involving groups of youths near Barrow Railway Station this evening.
A police spokesman confirmed that a youth had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
Several young people and children were moved on by officers during the incident which happened at around 8pm in the Holker Street, Abbey Road and Rawlinson Street area.
