A MAN has appeared in court and pleaded guilty after threatening violence against an individual at a petrol station in Barrow.

Bradley John Kelly indicated a guilty plea when he appeared at Kendal Magistrates' Court yesterday accused of using or threatening unlawful violence towards another person. In court, Kelly's conduct was said to have caused someone who was there to have feared for his own personal safety.

The offence took place at the Shell petrol station in Abbey Road on September 26.

The 34-year-old, whose address was given in court as care of the Kentmere Ward at Westmorland General Hospital - a mental health unit, will return to the court on December 23 for sentencing. Bail conditions ban him from entering the petrol station in Barrow.
