A MAN arrested after a dog was allegedly thrown from a fourth floor flat is today due to answer bail.


Police were alerted on the morning of Friday November 20 when a light brown dog was allegedly thrown from the back of a Steamer Street flat into Island Road on Barrow Island.

The animal, later named as Clyde, suffered internal and chest injuries in the incident, which was witnessed by parents and pupils making their way to Barrow Island Primary School.

Officers immediately took Clyde to The Grove Veterinary Group in Rawlinson Street.

Clyde has made a full recovery and is now in police kennels.

A 30-year-old man from Barrow who was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty following the incident has now answered police bail. He has been re-bailed again until today.
