A man has admitted selling £102,000 worth of stolen Pirelli tyres on eBay.
'I thought Pirelli tyres had been bought at cost', he told the court
However, Barry White, 38, told a jury he had no idea they had been taken illegally from the company's Carlisle site.
White is on trial at the city's crown court having denied a charge of conspiring to steal between August 2013 and May 2014.
It is alleged that he was part of a plot that also involved two other men.
However, White, of Napier Avenue, Bathgate, told the court he was asked to sell the tyres by one of those men. He was assured they had been bought directly from Pirelli at cost price.
"I had no reason to disbelieve that," White told the jury, which retired to consider its verdict late this afternoon.
