DELAYS of more than 30 minutes in both directions have been reported on the A590 in Cumbria because of flooding.
At Lindal, the A590 is particularly bad, with Cumbria Police reporting "hazardous driving conditions". The road was closed at around 10.30am to allow firefighters and highways engineers to pump water from a 100-metre section which was submerged.
Both lanes are now open and traffic is moving in both directions.
Tomorrow the heavy rain will continue throughout the day, and is forecast to start from 8am and last until Thursday morning.
