THE Christmas capital of Furness will be switching on their lights very soon.

The festive fun kicks off about 5pm with a parade through though the town lead by Santa himself.

The event will start at Tudor Square and end at Market Place where the tree and the streets will be lit up as the town starts its countdown to the big day.

After or before watching the parade why not head to St Mary's Church festival, which runs right through until the December 27.

The amazing cinematic themed Christmas trees line the church and well worth a visit.

It will be open Fridays and Saturdays 2pm-6pm, and Sundays from 2pm-5.30pm.

Look out for a slideshow of photographs from the popular event online later.
